Connecteam pricing
We earn nothing when you use the free plan
Worth being direct about this. The honest recommendation for most readers here is the free tier, which pays us nothing. We would rather tell you that than talk you onto a paid plan you do not need. That rule is the whole reason this site is worth reading.
The plans
| Plan | Monthly billing | Billed annually | Per extra user | Includes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small Business (free) All hubs, free for life | Free | n/a | n/a | up to 10 employees |
| Operations Basic | $35/mo | $29/mo | $0.80/mo | first 30 users |
| Operations Advanced | $59/mo | $49/mo | $2.50/mo | first 30 users |
| Operations Expert | $119/mo | $99/mo | $4.20/mo | first 30 users |
Checked 28 August 2026 against Connecteam's pricing page (read straight off the vendor’s own page). Software pricing moves around, so confirm before you buy.
- The free plan genuinely covers up to 10 employees, which is most of this site’s audience.
- Pricing is per hub (Operations, Communications, HR & Skills). Paying for more than one multiplies the cost.
What "free" actually includes
The Small Business plan is not a stripped trial. Up to 10 employees it covers the things a small crew actually needs.
- Shift scheduling and publishing to phones
- GPS-stamped clock in and out at the job site
- Task lists and checklists crews complete in the app
- Forms with photo attachments
- Team chat and announcements
For an owner with two to five employees, that is the entire problem solved at no cost. It is the single best value in the small-crew software category, and it is why our 3-person cleaning stack costs so much less than people expect.
The hub structure, which is the confusing part
Above the free tier, Connecteam is priced per hub rather than as one product.
| Hub | Covers | Do you need it? |
|---|---|---|
| Operations | Scheduling, time clock, tasks, forms, checklists | Yes. This is the one that matters for a field crew. |
| Communications | Chat, updates, surveys, directory | Rarely at this size. A group chat already works. |
| HR & Skills | Onboarding, training courses, documents | Not until you are hiring often enough for training to repeat. |
Each hub is $29/month billed annually at the Basic tier. Buying all three costs $87 a month for features most small crews will not open. Buy Operations only.
Where it stops
Connecteam manages people. Here is what it will not do.
- Run payroll. It exports hours; something else pays them. See our payroll guide.
- Raise estimates or invoices. There is no quoting and no customer billing.
- Keep customer service history. No record of what you did at an address last visit.
If those last two are your actual pain, you want a different category of product. The comparison with Housecall Pro covers exactly where the line sits.
What we have not done
We have not run Connecteam with a live crew. Pricing is read directly from the vendor's page and the feature summary is from their documentation, not from hands-on testing.

Common questions
Is Connecteam really free?
Yes, for up to 10 employees. The Small Business plan is free for life and includes all hubs. For most businesses this site is written for, meaning one to five employees, that gets you scheduling, a phone time clock, and checklists at no cost. Checked 28 August 2026 on the vendor's pricing page.
What happens when I pass 10 employees?
You move to a paid hub. Operations Basic is $29 a month billed annually ($35 monthly) covering the first 30 users, then $0.80 per additional user. The step from free to paid is small in absolute terms.
What is a "hub" and do I need more than one?
Connecteam splits its product into Operations (scheduling, time clock, tasks, forms), Communications (chat, updates, surveys), and HR & Skills (onboarding, training, documents). Each is priced separately once you pass the free tier. Most small service businesses need Operations only, and paying for all three triples the cost for features you won’t open at this size.
Is Connecteam enough on its own?
For managing people, yes. It won’t run payroll and it isn’t field-service software, so there’s nowhere to raise an estimate, send an invoice, or keep a customer service history. You’ll still need payroll separately, and if you need invoicing you’re looking at a different category of product.
